The LORD did not answer. 😱
What a terrifying sentence.
“And when Saul enquired of the LORD, the LORD answered him not, neither by dreams, nor by Urim, nor by prophets.”
1 Samuel 28:6 KJV
Further understanding of the ways which God speaks is needed, today it is not the same as during the years of the high priests of Israel, they wore clothing for the tasks and hearing from God was paramount.
Urim in Hebrew: אוּרִים ʾŪrīm, “lights”) and the Thummim (in Hebrew: תֻּמִּים Tummīm, “perfection” or “truth”)
What does that sound like in the New Covenant?
God speaking through the ‘Spirit of Truth’ John 16:13
when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come.
Ps. 119:105 Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.
Jesus is the LIGHT, Jesus is the Word made flesh and he doesn’t wind the clock and leave, he is min by min revealed in real time by the Spirit! Amen. And Amen.
God still speaks in visions: “And a vision appeared to Paul in the night; There stood a man of Macedonia, and prayed him, saying, Come over into Macedonia, and help us.”

And He speaks in dreams/sleep: “I will praise the Lord, who counsels me; even at night my heart instructs me.”
