Another year around the Son 2026

In the daily reading plan we read 2 Chronicles 29-30, John 11:28-57.

“My sons, do not be negligent now, for the Lord has chosen you to serve in his presence and offer sacrifices.””
— 2 Chronicles 29:11 NET Similarly Jesus calls for the one in grief: “The Teacher is here and is calling for you.”

Sons. Daughters This is what we are, completely known by our Father. (Ps. 139)

I stand and look up on a heap of ant-s, and see them all with one view; they know not me, my being, nature, or thoughts, though I am their fellow-creature; how little, then, must we know of the great Creator, though he, with one view, clearly beholds us all! The Saints’ Everlasting Rest by Baxter, Richard, 1615-1691

“So you are no longer a slave but a son, and if you are a son, then you are also an heir through God.”
— Galatians 4:7

And it won’t always be this way, this dying, and crying way of things. Something good is coming. Mom said it, and although it has been 10 years of waiting… the good is still coming. She had the view from the doorway, and her sight was different than mine. I firmly fixed in the the land of the living, she on her way out. Open the eyes of my heart.

The Lamb, which is in the midst of the throne, shall feed them, and shall lead them unto living fountains of water; and God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.” O blind, deceived world ! can you show us such a glory? This is the city of our God, where the tabernacle of God is with men, and he will dwell with them, and they shall be his people, and God himself shall be with them, and be their God. The Saints’ Everlasting Rest by Baxter, Richard, 1615-1691

“that the creation itself will also be set free from the bondage of decay into the glorious freedom of God’s children. For we know that the whole creation groans and suffers together until now. Not only this, but we ourselves also, who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we eagerly await our adoption, the redemption of our bodies.”
— Romans 8:21-23 NET

We who have the firstfruits of the Spirit, must not be negligent in such a great and awesome promise. What glory God has stored up for his children. What we wait for is WORTH waiting for.

And creation eagerly waits and groans with us. The Divine Author hears us. And God will come back to us.

FOR YET IN A VERY LITTLE WHILE, HE WHO IS COMING WILL COME, AND WILL NOT DELAY.
Hebrews 10:37 NASB

“Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which God hath prepared for them that love him.” 1 Corinthians 2:9

So let us in light of these verses seek the LORD. In Isaiah 45:19 God does not call us to seek him in vain. The salvific work of Christ fully purchased us a pardon and righteousness before God. God has given the gift. We are his fruit. His quiver of sons is graciously full. Psalm 127:5

Don’t be deceived, my dearly loved brothers. Every generous act and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights; with Him there is no variation or shadow cast by turning. By His own choice, He gave us a new birth by the message of truth so that we would be the firstfruits of His creatures.
James 1:16-18 HCSB

As we approach America’s 250th year of nationhood let us believe God can save a nation. My good friend texted the below verse to me as I head to gather on the mall, in rededication of America to God this May 17th.

“For a majority of the people, many of them from Ephraim, Manasseh, Issachar, and Zebulun, had not cleansed themselves, yet they ate the Passover otherwise than as prescribed. For Hezekiah had prayed for them, saying, “May the good Lord pardon everyone who sets his heart to seek God, the Lord, the God of his fathers, even though not according to the sanctuary’s rules of cleanness.” And the Lord heard Hezekiah and healed the people.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭30‬:‭18‬-‭20‬ ‭ESV‬‬

2 Chron. 7:14 is still true. “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”

GREAT AND MIGHTY PROVIDENCE OH DIVINE PHYSICIAN HEAL OUR LAND, FOR THE CHILDREN. AMEN

We don’t trust God’s word in vain. Even if you can’t attend in person seek God with AWAKE on MAY 17th: https://www.freedom250.org/celebration/rededicate-250-a-national-jubilee-of-prayer-praise-and-thanksgiving

Yesterday I was gifted a Psalms book printed in 1809. This book is 216 years old. The word of God stands the test of time, the saint’s hope prevails.

“The priests and Levites got up and pronounced blessings on the people. The Lord responded favorably to them as their prayers reached his holy dwelling place in heaven.”
