Another year around the Son 10.3.2025

Read Psalm 81, Luke 18:9-14

If the disciples can collectively and unitedly say, teach us to pray, and the apostle Paul can say, I want to know him and the fellowship of his suffering. What should we say? Perhaps our approach should be like the humble man who beat his breast and said, be merciful to me, a sinner.

When God pours out His HOLY Spirit on all flesh, young and old and you know you are in an awakening. On Wednesday Oct 1, 2025 at the Bridge retirement home where I was preaching on the days of AWE and how GREAT IS OUR GOD Susan was the sign. She is unable to get to church, but God. GOD still spoke to her in the morning in a dream telling her, many people are going on the Damascus road. Many Saul’s will submit to Jesus as Lord. Consider as a nation we just grieved a martyr’s death. What follows but the conversion of Saul?! God is hungry for humility and we are hungry for righteousness (Luke 18:9). We want zeal but not zeal without knowledge and puffed up with superiority. Can I get an amen? GOD. We need God like never before. We need to hear from God. Even then Saul heard a voice and he asked, in Acts 9:5 “Who are You, Lord?”

What is the Lord doing in America? We can know clearly what men, influencers, news media has to say, but what is God saying? We pray to be “sons of Issachar” like in 1 Chronicles 12:32 who had sagacious wisdom to know what to do. My friend Patti had a dream as well that she was asking for wisdom and in her dream she was in my kitchen and I said to her you need Psalm 126. The entire Psalm is profound and I have been meditating on it since the Asbury Revival Wed, Feb 8, 2023 – Fri, Feb 24, 2023. At Church Awakening 2023 David Thomas shared the Psalm of ascent to characterize what God had done. And then the Psalm came fresh last Feb. after my dad’s second stroke. That is all another story, but the night of his hospital release I woke up from my sleep because I was weeping. The next day we celebrated Bailey’s wedding day Feb. 11, 2025, a day under the apple tree of her beloved (Song 2:3). And that next morning I woke myself up laughing. How quickly sorrow turned to joy. How true God gives beauty for ashes. What I am saying here is those who sow in tears will reap a harvest. (Psalm 126:5-6) God is up to something AND (like Beauregard “Bo” Duke from Dukes of Hazzard okay okay, John Schneider said on this day Oct 3rd 2025) YOU ARE A PART OF IT. Nothing small done in obedience to God is ever small.

Don’t miss we are in the calendar time of the fall feasts and Psalm 81 the preassigned reading for today is about the feast of tabernacles. This is from the NET notes: The festival in view is probably the Feast of Tabernacles (Booths), which began on the fifteenth day of the seventh month when the moon was full. See Lev 23:34; Num 29:12. Observing the festival is a requirement.

In Psalm 81:4-6 NET He decreed it as a regulation in Joseph, when he attacked the land of Egypt. I heard a voice I did not recognize. It said: 7 “I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were released from holding the basket.

Joseph was sold as a slave that is how he went into Egypt via slave caravan. He went in humbled and he rose from the lowest prison to the highest place and rescued, provided for his father and brothers and the people of the world during famine. Now after his death a Pharaoh arose who did not know Joseph, or recognize Israel. Rather his sons and the sons of his brothers who sold him into slavery became slaves.
God heard their cries and sent them a Deliver. God hears prayer. Jer 33:3 says call to me and I will answer you.

“It said: “I removed the burden from his shoulder; his hands were released from holding the basket. In your distress you called out and I rescued you. I answered you from a dark thundercloud. I tested you at the waters of Meribah. (Selah)” ‭‭Psalms‬ ‭81‬:‭6‬-‭7‬‬

And so God himself and Moses, as his representative brings his people freedom in a display of power the world has never seen or known since. Joseph comes out of Egypt. (Yes as a mummy most likely but his bones literally go through the red sea and into the promised land!)
Meribah means quarrel or strife.
Massah means testing or trial.
The testing at the Waters of Meribah referred to a time when the Israelites were thirsty in the desert (a real need) and questioned if God was with them. Have you been there?

“He called the name of the place Massah and Meribah, because of the contending of the Israelites and because of their testing the Lord, saying, “Is the Lord among us or not?”” Exodus‬ ‭17‬:‭7‬ ‭NET‬‬

There’s a time in our lives where we will question as well, we are not superior to Israel. And in our season of testing, whether we believe God or not is on trial. Do you trust THE DELIVER, the “I AM“, our God incarnate through the power of the resurrected Christ to really be with us? Truer words have never been spoken, never will I leave you never will I forsake you. (Hebrews 13:5-6, Deut. 31:6-8)
During the test ‘only believe’ Mark 5:36.
Water flows from the rock, yes God cares for you.
Why did you doubt?
In Matthew 14:31 Jesus asks Peter this question.
I pray you pass the tests, with mustard seed faith. There’s another scripture that talks about believing, “I would have fainted unless I had believed” Psalm 27:13-14.
Lament is real and even the Psalmist asks, if the Lord is on our side, why have all these things happen to us? (Judges 6:13)
It’s in those moments of testing that we hear the words of Isaiah so clearly to Ahaz, “if you don’t stand in faith, you will not stand at all” Isaiah 7:9.
Savior, He can move the mountain 🏔️!

Jesus replied, “Truly I tell you, if you have faith and do not doubt, not only can you do what was done to the fig tree, but also you can say to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and it will be done. Matt 21:21

“The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?” Psalm 118:6

After this morning meal in God’s word I jumped in the car. On my way to pick up Annie I listened to the Seedbed, and what do ya know it is quite confirming as he repeated the words of the Father.

Check it out if you have time, SEEDBED JD Walt.
