CHAR HERE: ENCOURAGE OTHERS LIKE DAVID!!! 9“And you, my son Solomon, acknowledge the God of your father, and serve him with wholehearted devotion and with a willing mind, for the Lord searches every heart and understands every desire and every thought. If you seek him, he will be found by you; but if you forsake him, he will reject you forever. 10Consider now, for the Lord has chosen you to build a house as the sanctuary. Be strong and do the work.”
Pray like DAVID.
David leads by delegating quite a few positions of responsibility. And then after offering the supplies for building the house of the LORD, the team of craftsmen, and his own treasure— he PRAYS.
As I was reading this I felt like David‘s prayer could be a prayer model we pray for our children as well.
Lord give them help —skilled help Lord— we know you test the hearts so surround our children with willing and honest people to help them in life. Lord GOD keep the desires and the thoughts in the hearts of our children generous and pure —holy desires of love and loyalty.
LORD MAY our children know the righteousness of JESUS, the son of David freely gives them to by grace. BY YOUR SPIRIT AND GRACE may they walk with wholehearted devotion to keep your commands, statutes, and decrees and to do everything they can in their generation to build the kingdom of GOD. May their generation see missionaries fully funded and prayerfully supported. Bless and anoint their communities to be a people who gladly fill the church, and be the ecclesia. Call them out of the world’s systems and into the kingdom promises.
Lord may my children also praise you in humility, with a willingness to lay themselves before YOU out of reverence. Give each child we pray for today a joyful unity, and a strong family for your name, and the humility to honor you GOD in any and all success. Oh God be with them when they are young and inexperienced in the abundance of youth. Amen
It’s been a long time since David was lonely in the cave, and he has firsthand seen the faithfulness of God. Everything David has is because God keeps his promises. And for Israel it’s been a long-standing promise, a tested promise that one day a king will rise from the line of David and with him the glory of GOD will cover the earth, and the rule and reign of HIS KINGDOM will never end. Maranatha!
