AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JANUARY 8

READ GENESIS 12-13.

We read today about the introduction to the first person in the bible God calls his friend! (Gen 18)

We did this long day hike for my 40th birthday to Lake Ingles 🙂 fun fact-the hike is so worth it! It travels through a number of ecosystems which are littered with wild flowers and breathtaking views through the Teanaway Valley and into the Alpine Lakes Wilderness.
When we were hiking there was a point in the trail where due to the rocks we needed ‘cairns’ to show us where to scramble to next. And without it, we would have lost the trail. In a similar way Abraham, leaves us these same altars of direction. He shows us faith believes and builds an altar. Faith is there before the lake is in view! It’s says this way, keep trusting! Your God who begin a good work will complete it! (Phil. 1:6)

Abraham is the father of faith. His faith is in God’s faithfulness! God can and will do what he says.

A flashback fact his father Terah comes from Shem, one of Noah’s sons.

A characteristic of Abram, (his name before God changes it) is he believes the promise of God and says ‘heck ya’ 🙌🏼
