Team engages prayer.

The remarkable, nearly incomprehensible, thing about service and blessings given and received in the name of Jesus and the Holy Spirit, is that they seem to multiply.

Reflection Reading:

Mark 8: 1-9

1During those days another large crowd gathered. Since they had nothing to eat, Jesus called his disciples to him and said, 2“I have compassion for these people; they have already been with me three days and have nothing to eat. 3If I send them home hungry, they will collapse on the way, because some of them have come a long distance.”
4His disciples answered, “But where in this remote place can anyone get enough bread to feed them?”
5 “How many loaves do you have?” Jesus asked.
“Seven,” they replied.
6He told the crowd to sit down on the ground. When he had taken the seven loaves and given thanks, he broke them and gave them to his disciples to distribute to the people, and they did so. 7They had a few small fish as well; he gave thanks for them also and told the disciples to distribute them. 8The people ate and were satisfied. Afterward the disciples picked up seven basketfuls of broken pieces that were left over. 9About four thousand were present.

Plethuno is a Greek word translated “multiplied or increased” often referencing multiplication from an outside source.

Acts 9:31 So the church throughout all Judea and Galilee and Samaria enjoyed peace, being built up; and going on in the fear of the Lord and in the comfort of the Holy Spirit, it continued to increase.

Acts 12:24 But the word of the Lord continued to grow and to be multiplied.

Nebuchadnezzar the king to all the peoples, nations, and men of every language that live in all the earth: “May your peace abound (Greek reads “peace be multiplied [plethuno] to you!)” (Da 4:1)

Application

Listen: what part, concept, or segment stands out?

Understand: Give thanks for what we have to offer.  Giving and receiving, serving and being served, blessing and being blessed are part of this mission opportunity. God supplies the outside source for the body of Christ to continue to grow. Today you are a part of this!

Do THIS: take action.
