Light

Nations will come. Drawn to live in God’s light. Today I encourage you to pull away and spend sometime wondering and worshipping alongside your brothers and sisters across the nations.

And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising. Isaiah‬ ‭60‬:‭3‬ AMP

Light is to be elevated, positioned properly, so that you can see. Elevate Jesus, lift him up and the result? Men are drawn.

He isn’t all about the pursuit of a crowd. It is the natural result of his presence. The light will shine even when no one’s around or even for just one- you will find Jesus drawing the hopeless to his light.

In the word of God we read of a situation seemingly hopeless. Hagar had been thrust from her position in Abraham’s home the father of her son, given no aid she is struggling for life. She’s destitute and wandering the wilderness and ready to give up all hope when God actually opens her eyes. Today, you might feel like Hagar on the opposite side of God’s favor circumstances against but I believe that God has a greater plan for you as he did for Hagar.

And God heard the voice of the boy, and the angel of God called to Hagar from heaven and said to her, “What troubles you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the boy where he is. Up! Lift up the boy, and hold him fast with your hand, for I will make him into a great nation.” Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water and gave the boy a drink. And God was with the boy, and he grew up. He lived in the wilderness and became an expert with the bow. (‭Genesis‬ ‭21‬:‭17-20‬ ESV)

“No one lights a lamp, then hides it in a drawer. It’s put on a lamp stand so those entering the room have light to see where they’re going. Your eye is a lamp, lighting up your whole body. If you live wide-eyed in wonder and belief, your body fills up with light. If you live squinty-eyed in greed and distrust, your body is a dank cellar. Keep your eyes open, your lamp burning, so you don’t get musty and murky. Keep your life as well-lighted as your best-lighted room.” (‭Luke‬ ‭11‬:‭33-36‬ MSG)
