Made New, take a Stand
Who should take a stand?
Ps 24:3 Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place?4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation.6 This is the generation– ok stop right here mid sentence with me.
Who is this generation? The call has gone forward our response is required. Jesus offers his righteousness like a gift to you and I. Do not disqualify yourself by the knowledge of your own impure, messy, culture ridden self? The call comes to you and when it does it equips you. This is the generation|| If: you say yes. Yes, to salvation. Yes, to help. Yes, to relationship with God. Yes, to confession. Yes, to family. Yes, to belonging.
God will help you navigate the labyrinth maze of your culture, and rule fairly the mess of your life. He will provide your food and more than meals, He will protect, instruct, and bring you close. You will find your life made new.
I can confirm a pup is completely messy. As we have a new one bounding around our home and chewing all things important to us. Our family is in love with him mess and all. In a similar way God is in love with you- not turning you out- but training you up.
Today I dropped our 4 month old chocolate lab off to the vet. His cuteness is unbearable, a waddle and curious nature exploring the offices. Drake was full nervous fear at the strange building and so instinctively he jumped into my arms and nosed his face into my sleeve for comfort. When I think of God wanting to gather you close, that warm puppy love proximity comes to mind. There is something hungry in all of us to hold and be held.
The God who longs to pull you close, also made the majestic mountains, gathered and placed islands like a child gather’s marbles and tosses them forth. This God throws into dark-space massive stars, and sources all rivers. He is a true comfort to all His children, as a Father who loves and is full of strength.
Today, as you move forward God’s relational presence pulls you to your feet and encourages you with all boldness to stand as one in your generation who has said yes.
