Holy Week

The crowd in Jerusalem will lionize Christ as King upon his entry. The act of taking your garment and placing it before Christ was done in the days of Jehu.
“Then they hurried and each man took his garment and placed it under him on the bare steps, and blew the trumpet, saying, “Jehu is king!””
2 Kings 9:13 NASB1995
Then compare Matt 21:8 NASB 1977: And most of the multitude spread their garments in the road, and others were cutting branches from the trees, and spreading them in the road.
These two acts are separated by the fall of Israel and the rebuilding of the temple in the days of Ezra and Nehemiah. Approximately 850–870 years, depending on the exact dates used for Jehu’s reign and Jesus’ triumphal entry.
This is holy week, all the gospels will testify about Christ’s last week of life. And we are called to look upon the Lamb’s suffering as well.
This laying of garments is an act of pronouncing Christ as King. Yet in Mark 15:12-14 Pilate will speak to them, “Then what do you want me to do with the one you call king of the Jews?” They shouted back, “Crucify him!”
And Pilate wanted to satisfy the crowd. Contrast Pilate with Christ who knew the hour was exigent for him to satisfy the will of Father.
“If this cup cannot pass by, but I must drink it, Your will be done!” (Matthew 26:42)
Christ in willing submission was the Isaac offered, and the angel offered no replacement ram for he is the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world. (Revelation 13:8 NET) In the garden of prayer the angel only enforced the strength needful for the agony ahead.

I had a few short visions on Saturday and Sunday. Saturday morning just before prayer it was early and in a dream I saw Christ before Pilate and the mockery of Christ and his undeniable strength to endure. So Jesus came out, wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe. Pilate said to them, “Behold the man!” “Ecce Homo!”(See Mark 15:17-20, John 19:2-5) I am still shook, Oh what he fully and faithfully endured for my salvation. And then on Sunday in church a brief vision of a roman bust disconnected from the body and overturned by the meek and humble entry of Christ riding the colt. The bowels of hell begin to shake. Rome will bust. But not in the way the crowd was anticipating when they threw their cloaks before him crying out, Hosanna! Christ the Messiah will drive the corruption from us, throw out the leaven in us, place a new heart in our chest and displace all lesser loves. And this soul of fire revival, fleshly hearts burning change will be the bloody end of the apostles, and their death will stand as witness. There is no greater love than the laying down of your life for another. All power dominion and glory unto the Lamb–BEHOLD THE DOOR. Unfading in his eternal glory Christ reigns.
