Another year around the Son 10.29.2025

Read Psalm 96, 100, Acts 17:16-34

It’s early and the sun hasn’t risen yet today. I can hear the sound of rain falling outside the windows consistently for the past hour or more.

Lord God you are right. You are right in your incarnation, your arrival was perfectly timed. The morning light comes in precision timing. You have determined the appointed times in perfection.

Take a pause or drink from your mug and consider: Acts 17:26-27 AMP He made from one man every nation of mankind to live on the face of the earth, having determined their appointed times and the boundaries of their lands and territories. This was so that they would seek God, if perhaps they might grasp for Him and find Him, though He is not far from each one of us.

Good morning AWAKE FAMILY. Our Psalm starts off this morning with the title “A Call to Worship the Lord the Righteous Judge.” Worship the Lord with me. A phrase has been reoccurring since my trip to Washington DC. One very early east coast morning I was praying and there was a number of tents of worshipping yet one of them had a few undistracted young men singing, “All your ways are just and true. All your ways are just and true.”

Do we believe this?

Due to delays of God’s arrival or apparent obstacles we can fail to hold our convictions firm to the end. Morning resolve and energy can dissipate. This is why Hebrews 3:13-15 is needed. Proper words can fuel the family like meals shared.

“But exhort one another daily, as long as it is called today, so that none of you may be hardened by sin’s deceitfulness. We have come to share in Christ if we hold firmly to the end the assurance we had at first. As it has been said: “Today, if you hear His voice, do not harden your hearts, as you did in the rebellion.”

Consider the patience of Mary the mother of Jesus and the mother of James. (Matt 13:55-56) James was not far from the miracle of God made flesh. (Jn. 1:14)

James the brother of Jesus would later be known as James the Just. He didn’t spend the majority of his older brother Christ’s life on earth as the pillar he would later become for the church. He was not even present next to his mother in John 19:25. After rising from the dead his brother appears to him. (1 Cor 15:1-7) And once awakened he would serve God’s church in Jerusalem and be killed for his unwavering belief in Jesus as the Passover Lamb. Josephus, a roman historian in Antiquities of the Jews 20.200, reports how the High Priest Ananus ben Ananus utilized the Sanhedrin to execute James, the brother of Jesus (called Christ). This occurred around 62 AD and after James was pushed off a terrible height, he was then stoned to his death. (Eusebius in Church History 2:23)

The Lord’s brother and his conversion is an encouraging thought, some of our strongest leaders in the church have still to come to Christ as LORD.

This morning you are reading this or whatever time of day you happen to read and you hunger for God’s word. This hunger to study and seek the Lord, to “Tremble before HIM” is evidence you are awake.

“On who shall I look? Is it not the one who is meek, mild, and trembles at my words?” Isaiah 66:2 “Worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness; Tremble (in submissive wonder) before Him, all the earth.” Psalm 96:9 AMP

If you long for your family who is dead in unbelief to sit up and be given back like in Luke 7:15. Pray. Say with the disciples, “Lord teach us to pray” …Luke 11:11 NET.

When in prayer rely on God’s JUST nature. This was from my field notes on a flight, “It is I, proclaiming victory, mighty to save.” Pray believing in God’s will to save.

Pray for all of your brothers to believe in Jesus. Jesus didn’t stop at James he went after all the brothers of his family. May we do the same. James, Joseph, Judas, and Simon were a part of the prayer community in the upperroom. (Acts 1:13-14)

And when your family is farther than James and Christ’s brothers, pray the prayer Abraham offered for Lot.

Gen 18:23-25 AMP Abraham approached [the Lord] and said, “Will You really sweep away the righteous (those who do right) with the wicked (those who do evil)?  Suppose there are fifty righteous [people] within the city; will You really sweep it away and not spare it for the sake of the fifty righteous who are in it?  Far be it from You to do such a thing—to strike the righteous with the wicked, so that the righteous and the wicked are treated alike. Far be it from You! Shall not the Judge of all the earth do right [by executing just and righteous judgment]?”

If you are still praying with me this morning pray like Daniel for your nation. Daniel 9:3 NET So I turned my attention to the Lord God to implore him by prayer and requests, with fasting, sackcloth, and ashes. Turn your attention to the LORD GOD meditate and pray the prayer from Daniel 9. Perhaps try 3x today? EH?

Let our confession heard. Will we humbly pray with David, “You are right when You judge” (Ps 51:4 AMP), and trust Christ the ONLY One who justifies?
