Hail Thee as the sun above

‘And Simeon blessed them, and said unto Mary his mother, Behold, this child is set for the fall and rising again of many in Israel.”  Luke 2:34

Will he find you in anticipation for his arrival? Bethlehem hadn’t prepared nor were those from the tribe of Judah even though they had this promise in Genesis 49:10 declaring a lawgiver would come from Judah. Simeon however was anticipating God’s salvation.

Faces pressed against the window, eager for the great homecoming like children we are waiting to welcome the Father home to us. “I will make a covenant of peace with them; it will be an everlasting covenant. I will establish them and increase their numbers, and I will put my sanctuary among them forever.” Ezekiel 37:26 NIV

The Prayer of Simeon the God-Receiver

Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace, according to thy word; for mine eyes have seen thy salvation, which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; a light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel. —Luke 2:29 KJV

Pray this passage today.

“For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing and achieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!], Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless and everlasting.” 2 Corinthians 4:17-18 AMPC
