AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR DECEMBER 5
Read Romans 9-12
Figure MERCY out. You need to understand it.
“It does not, therefore, depend on human desire or effort, but on God’s mercy.”
Romans 9:16 NIV
In Romans 9 it’s like you’re studying for a test you sit down to take that test and you think I hope I have the right answers and Jesus comes in and he takes the test from you and smiles at you and invites you out of that strict stress of performance. He ‘passed’ and the law was fulfilled. Now he wants to guide you through his Spirit. The main thing is, it all falls apart without him, so keep the conversation and connection with HIM. Tell him everything in your heart.
Nothing is accomplished by striving to keep the law, everything is accomplished by trust and knowing Jesus.
Oh the mercy of God! He understands, he helps, HE CAME to dwell in us and be with us! Walk with him, talk with him, believe!!
“Do you not know? Have you not heard? The Lord is the everlasting God, the Creator of the ends of the earth. He will not grow tired or weary, and his understanding no one can fathom.”

“What if he did this to make the riches of his glory known to the objects of his mercy, whom he prepared in advance for glory—”
Romans 9:23 NIV
“As it is written: “See, I lay in Zion a stone that causes people to stumble and a rock that makes them fall, and the one who believes in him will never be put to shame.””
Romans 9:33 NIV
“As Scripture says, “Anyone who believes in him will never be put to shame.””
Romans 10:11 NIV
Say it with me, I will believe! We who believe are NEVER PUT TO SHAME!

Paul’s attitude here reminds me so much of Jesus. A desire to selflessly sacrifice self for the benefit of those you love. I pray that God would transform me to be able to love like this.
