AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JULY 4

Read Hosea 1-5

“My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” Hosea 4:6

Knowledge in Hebrew is so much more than merely knowing something! THINK relational knowledge, the kind that comes from how you knowingly understand someone after being in a relationship with them.

God is saying they are destroyed without knowledge that comes from a relationship with me. Find out what pleases the Lord. Ephesians 5:8-14 HINT it has a ton to do with HOLINESS. RIGHTEOUSNESS. FAITHFULNESS.

Hosea the prophet gave up his rights LIKE who he wanted to marry, and when was enough of her adultery. What he wanted to name his three children. REALLY he did it! Can we just appreciate the character of this man of God? He knew God relationally. He knew the pain and identified with God in his married life in order to bring a message to the people of Judah and Israel. Romans 8:18 wasn’t penned yet, but I’m certain the glory in Hosea is the faithfulness of God on display.

Love suffers long. 1 Cor 13:4

God spoke to Hosea in-depth, and shared his word and future plans with Hosea over 25 years.

Have you experienced relationship betrayal? So has God. He knows. He understands. And still his love doesn’t fail. But it also doesn’t fail to discipline and bring correction. And after HE will restore them. Lynda has something profound on the HOW of that….

LYNDA MURPHY “and the earth shall answer the grain, the wine, and the oil, and they shall answer Jezreel, and I will sow her for myself in the land. And I will have mercy on No Mercy, and I will say to Not My People, ‘You are my people’; and he shall say, ‘You are my God.’””
‭‭Hosea‬ ‭2‬:‭22‬-‭23 ESV

Jezreel means “God sows” or “God will sow”. In Hosea 2 God promises to sow Himself in the land. Lord you are the God who restores!
