Grateful.
No duty is more urgent than that of returning thanks. Unknown
I’m Grateful for
lightness in her laughter
chocolate tart perfection
a house of children to the brim
a man bun in his hair
warm covers and soft snow falling
the return of loved ones from afar
the surprise of generosity
the meal of forgiveness on a table well set
those who dropped by just because
at church the 4 year old boy named Tiger and his brilliant smile
helping hands for kitchen duty
dogs with treats and expectation of more
prayers with my niece, sweet young only fifteen
determined hike, on his new trail conversation willing us forward
roses, candles, pumpkins, chestnuts, artichokes, and persimmons on the table
camping chairs and blankets in November crowd the living room so all can watch the movie
grace to grow a family and a table to give thanks
God’s abundant love and encouragement
Additional reference: Colossians 2:6-7
Therefore as you have received Christ Jesus the Lord so walk in Him, having been firmly rooted and now being built up in Him and established in your faith, just as you were instructed, and overflowing with gratitude.
