AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR OCTOBER 30

Read Matthew 21:23-46, 22:1-14, Mark 11:27-33, 12:1-12, Luke 20:1-18, John 12:37-50

Jesus shares a parable about how a landowner owner deals with rebellion, murder, and a hostile takeover of his land. He had hired vine-growers to work while He was away, and they continued in their rebellion by disregarding all his messengers, and the final straw is the murder of the landowner’s son. What will the landowner do? Jesus never incites a people to violence. God is just. This deliberate breach of trust gross violation of contract will render the men their proper punishment, removal of authority and even death. Is Jesus teaching an ethics class?

The widow is rich towards GOD giving the smaller amount yet the larger percentage. The vine-growers are ethically corrupt hoarding the harvest and the land. Jesus death must have been on his mind. Herod wants to kill you they say, and he says I will keep driving out demons and healing until they do. He knows he must die in Jerusalem. He reaches the city late in the day according to Mark 11:11 without being killed at any other attempt. Hosanna, to SON OF DAVID fills the city of David.

Hosanna to the Son of David!” they were indignant,  and they said to him, “Do you hear what these are saying?” And Jesus said to them, “Yes; have you never read, “ ‘Out of the mouth of infants and nursing babies you have prepared praise’?” Mt 21:15–16. (Psalm 8:2)
