AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR OCTOBER 29
Read Matthew 21:1-22, 26:6-13, Mark 11:1-26, 14:3-9, Luke 19:28-48, John 2:13-25, 11:55-57, 12:1-36
The Passover LAMB was chosen six days before the sacrifice would be killed and given to GOD. On the first day, its feet and ankles were anointed with oil, as a woman annointed Jesus feet, in John 12:1–8. After that over five days, it would be inspected for flaws. Consider Jesus tested, teaching, and debating in the temple (Mark 11:15–12:40). NOW two days before the Passover, the lamb’s head would be anointed. AS WE READ Mark 14, Matthew 26:6–13 and know JESUS IS THE LAMB OF GOD.
JESUS, THE Messiah (Mark 8:27–30) the choose one. Christ is the greek word for Messiah. Jesus is the KING of ISRAEL, proven by his anointing. KINGS are anointed like Samuel when he found David and this is the first time we see it done publicly to JESUS, for his burial. (Luke 4:18, Isaiah 61:1, Acts 10:38) Empowered to die for the people. Empowered to lay down his life. Perfect and without blemish, Christ the KING offers his blood and body for the sins of the world. He has authority to lay his life down and to take it up again (John 10:18).
Because JESUS the Son of Man (Daniel 7:13–14) AND His dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom one that shall not be destroyed. HE IS KING OF AN INDESTRUCTIBLE AND EVERLASTING DOMINION.
