AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR SEPTEMBER 30
Rest day.

Sometimes we can feel like there’s no time for rest. Take time anyway.
Jesus is in a boat commuting across the sea. He falls asleep. Jesus shows us, take rest when and where you can. Jesus is demonstrating what David writes, ‘In peace I will lie down and sleep, for you alone, LORD, make me dwell in safety.’ Psalm 4:8
Jesus trusts his Father. He demonstrates supreme trust throughout his life.
And much like our lives on his time off, so to speak a storm kicks up. Trust in God doesn’t mean an absence of weather. Luke 8:22-25 and Matthew 8:23-27 share the account. In this world you will have trouble…Jesus is startled awake and he shuts the storm down. It’s nothing he can’t command. And in the chaos he asks his disciples, where is your faith?
When we, who have faith rest, it is because we know God is capable of commanding all storms. ALL THINGS can and do work together for good, even the not good. Christ in us gives us rest. It’s a gift to those who love him. (Romans 8:28)
“Great is your faithfulness to me, God from age to age, history can prove there is nothing you can’t do, when you speak a word it will come to pass, I put my faith in Jesus ‘cause He’s never let me down’
You can rest. Bless HIM and go to sleep. HE WONT FAIL.
