AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR SEPTEMBER 21

Read Zechariah 8-14

I will save you that you may become a blessing. Do not fear; let your hands be strong. Zechariah 8:13 is the encouragement the unsure needed to hear. And just like the time I was doing an event, and my daughter wrote Jesus on the RSVP list in her elementary age handwriting, I needed that scribble of encouragement. Who would also want to know God will come?!

God’s plan is to do just that. Zechariah 9:9-10 Rejoice greatly your king is coming to you. He is just. He is confident and his arrival is with a gift, it’s called salvation. He is humble, and riding a donkey, even on a colt, the foal of a donkey.

A donkey is the symbol of peace. How appropriate. Jesus is the prince of peace, and will give peace to the nations, and his dominion will be from sea to sea, yes even to the ends of the earth. Jesus is KING forever. Zachariah is prophesying, on December 7th, 518 BC, years prior to Christ’s future and grand entrance to Jerusalem. AND you know it, JESUS did what he said, entering Jerusalem, riding a donkey’s colt! Read it in all four gospels, Matthew 21:1-17, Mark 11:1-11, Luke 19:29-40, and John 12:12-19. All throughout Jerusalem the shouts HOSANNA were heard, (an appeal to God, to SAVE US). Jesus is Lord. He is good. He is with you. Feel safe and secure in his dominion and rule. Do not fear.
