What about Bible-reading? When not inclined to read it, should it be done as a matter of duty? He replied that the Bible is sometimes read because we are hungry, at other times in order to feel hungry.
This is taken from the book Glory Filled The Land, a trilogy on the Welsh revival of 1904 to 1905.
It’s interesting to me how everyone quotes Jeremiah, ya know the beginning ‘before I formed you in the womb, I called you.’ But then we look at the trajectory of his life, it is one of serious challenge and yet courageous obedience to God’s word.
