AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR AUGUST 10
Read Jeremiah 9-12

What can a Jesus follower boast in?
“but let the one who boasts boast in this, that he understands and knows Me [and acknowledges Me and honors Me as God and recognizes without any doubt], that I am the Lord who practices lovingkindness, justice and righteousness on the earth, for in these things I delight,” says the Lord.”
Jeremiah 9:24 AMP
Boast in the lovingkindness of God to bottle our tears. Psalm 56:8
Jeremiah was called the ‘weeping prophet’ who suffers watching the nation, and his countrymen stubbornly and willfully run into judgement.
SYDNEY LUND “Consider, and call for the mourning women to come; send for the skillful women to come; let them make haste and raise a wailing over us, that our eyes may run down with tears and our eyelids flow with water.” Jeremiah 9:17-18
There are many times in scripture where weeping women have moved the heart of God and God comes close to them and hears their cries. God’s heart is moved when our hearts are moved towards His. We have a call and gift to move the heart of God with our prayers and tears. What can we accomplish with Him if we just let Him affect our hearts?
CHARITY (AGAIN) Saint Augustine’s mother wept bitterly in prayer over her lost son. Ambrose the priest tells her, ‘Leave me and go in peace. It cannot be that the son of these tears should be lost’” (Confessions 3.12). The confidence of God’s value toward her tears is such an encouragement to us today. We too may hear as did Jeremiah, “This is what the Lord says: ‘Restrain your voice from weeping and your eyes from tears, for your work will be rewarded,’ declares the Lord. ‘They will return from the land of the enemy. So there is hope for your descendants’” Jeremiah 31:16–17
