AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JULY 23

Read Isaiah 38-39, 2 Kings 20:1-21, 2 Chronicles 32:24-33

“But when envoys were sent by the rulers of Babylon to ask him about the miraculous sign that had occurred in the land, God left him to test him and to know everything that was in his heart.”
‭‭2 Chronicles‬ ‭32‬:‭31‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The miraculous sign 🪧 caught the attention of Babylon! It would have the attention of the whole world today.
And it was the sign from God to Hezekiah that he would be healed. This extremely impossible reversal of the sun is to confirm physical healing. Wow wow wow.
Yet no glory, honor, or credit is given to God for the sign when Hezekiah is asked. And this visit from Babylon will not benefit the nation. Isaiah foretells the captivity ahead.
Hezekiah doesn’t challenge the judgement of God. His last recorded praise is powerful.

“The living, the living—they praise you, as I am doing today; parents tell their children about your faithfulness.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭38‬:‭19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

ZAN FISKUM: I love the humble and honest prayer of Hezekiah for God extend his life and God LISTENED. As I grow older this becomes more apparent to me than ever- God hears our prayers, cares deeply and answers! He is so in tune with us, like He told Hezekiah, I have seen your tears and heard your request. To me this shows his attention to detail and His desire to really know the person speaking to Him.
There were so many years I didn’t go to prayer first or it wasn’t a big part of my life but I now that I know I have a father in Heaven, full of compassion and the desire to answer me, I pray every chance I can get. Prayers of thankfulness and prayers if requests. We can not exhaust God with our prayers, He loves when we come to Him. And God has answered even the smallest little requests soo many time… because he truly loves to ❤️
