AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JUNE 5
Read 1 Kings 5-6, 2 Chronicles 2-3
THINK ABOUT THE LIFE YOU ARE BUILDING.
Who are you becoming more like?
Your mom?
Your friends?
Who?
It’s who you spend time with —they are who you conform to, who you become is vital.
Solomon, who was he becoming? He honored his father’s friend Hiram King of Tyre which was both profitable and wise. Proverbs 27:10 ESV Do not forsake your friend and your father’s friend, and do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away. And in his reply to Hiram he continued to acquire the renown of wisdom. He knew what he needed to outsource and after 4 years of ruling he began to build the temple for the LORD. (2 Chronicles 3:1). I can’t help but think about the absence of his father David and how difficult it must’ve been to navigate without his father’s experienced counsel and cautions.
Compare the wisdom he shared, to the wisdom he lived. Some of the wisdom Solomon shared may have been hard earned by the choices he made? He had some influences, who although beautiful eroded his wisdom. Ouch.
Praying for each of us—praying we live more like Jesus. Praying we are built up into a spiritual temple worthy of HIS PRESENCE and GLORY. LESS mere knowledge of what is right AND more right living 🤍more of Jesus in truth than in talk eh?! I’m praying for that today.
2 Chron 3:17 AMP He erected the pillars in front of the temple, one on the right, the other on the left, and named the one on the right Jachin (may He establish) and the one on the left Boaz (in Him is strength).
Praying today for each of you, may GOD establish and strengthen you. YOU ARE HIS TEMPLE. STAND STRONG.
