AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR MAY 23

Read Psalm 119:1-88

What is one thing from today’s reading that you could meditate on?

Grace breeds delight in GOD, and delight breeds meditation. THOMAS WATSON

If I’m truly meditating on something it’s like when I soak nasturtium seeds before planting them it helps them germinate.

Psalms 119:15 says, ‘I will meditate on your precepts’ and in 1 Timothy 4:15 Paul exhorts his son in the faith, Timothy to ‘meditate upon these things.’ Mary in Luke 2:19, the mother of Christ would meditate on the events surrounding the birth of JESUS. She kept them, she treasured them, she pondered them, and she took time to bring them back to mind considering what does this mean? How often our mind can retrace a negative event? OVER THINKING is a common phrase we use today. What if it’s not a bad thing to overthink about the promises of GOD?

Meditating on the promises or the word of God is like when I put cardamom in my black granite mortar and pestle, as I crush the pods their fragrance is released. OH WHAT GRACE!

If you’re having a hard time grasping the feelings of grace try meditating on Isaiah 43:25. It is for you CHRIST DIED, THINK ABOUT IT!

In the history of the revival on the Isle of Lewis, Mary Peckham went through a transformation from a brazen attitude against religion to a heart that was meditating on the Lord and whether or not THE SAVIOR could save her. When she heard the phrase ‘the chastisement for our peace was upon him’ a flood of confirming emotion filled her being. The seed of faith broke through!
