AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR MAY 10

Read Psalm 26, 40, 41, 58, 61, 62, 64

SYDNEY LUND writes:

In Psalm 26 David is saying to God “prove me, O Lord, and try me; test my heart and my mind”. That’s a bold prayer to pray. How often do we really invite God into our hearts like that and tell Him to test our heart? David is exposing all of him to God because he doesn’t want to have any part of himself separate from God. I feel like the Lord is calling us into a deeper intimacy with Him and it isn’t because He doesn’t think we’re not following closely enough, but because He is desiring more of us and for us to have more of Him.

MY POST FROM ONE YEAR AGO:

Your soul can find rest in God. In spite of and no matter the circumstances the door to REST through Christ is always AND perpetually open.

Yesterday my son Obediah said grief feels like moving through a swamp.
And I shared this verse with him which brought him truth.

“I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. He put a new song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God. Many will see and fear the Lord and put their trust in him.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭40:1-3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Todays note:

“Blessed are those who have regard for the weak; the Lord delivers them in times of trouble.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭41‬:‭1‬ ‭NIV‬‬

When we care for the weak and broken we sow 🌱 into our own lives a harvest of care.
