SYDNEY LUND WRITES: David understood the power and need for repentance. He knew that what the Lord truly wanted from us wasn’t burnt offerings or sin offerings, but He wanted us to have a heart change and to offer our broken to Him to heal. In Psalm 51 he says “for you will not delight in sacrifice, or I would give it … The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit; a broken and contrite heart, O God, you will not despise.”
He had this revelation before Jesus came and the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. He had that much access then, how much more do we have access now!
Holy Spirit fill us and reveal yourself to us through revelation of you word and show us Your heart.
