AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR APRIL 21
Read 1 Chronicles 6, Psalm 39, 39, 77-78
“These are the men David put in charge of the music in the house of the Lord after the ark came to rest there. They ministered with music before the tabernacle, the tent of meeting, until Solomon built the temple of the Lord in Jerusalem. They performed their duties according to the regulations laid down for them. and Heman’s associate Asaph, who served at his right hand: Asaph son of Berekiah, the son of Shimea,”
1 Chronicles 6:31-32, 39 NIV
Psalm 78 begins with a maskil of Asaph. This is the same person as mentioned above. He is most likely the most popular sacred singer of David’s rule. Later there we have the ‘sons of Asaph’ who make songs in the same service as Asaph. (2 Chron 20:14).
A rich faith of prophetic praise fills the generations from Asaph. Revival in families is a biblical theme from Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob, down the generations to the New Testament as well. ‘I am reminded of your sincere faith, which first lived in your grandmother Lois and in your mother Eunice and, I am persuaded, now lives in you also.‘ 2 Timothy 1:5
