A number of daughters from Joseph to Caleb’s —ask specifically for an inheritance and receive it.
Jesus highlights asking in Matthew 7:7-8: “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who ask receives; the one who seeks finds; and to the one who knocks, the door will opened.”
It’s also in Luke 16:9 as well!
We submit our requests and trust that God is indeed good and gives us what is good.
Caveat is that we’re not to spend it on our own lusts or wants, or selfish gain. Read 🙂 James 4
And no, this does not mean that all unanswered prayers are because we are selfish. It just means that sometimes like Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, there is no other way.
