AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR FEBRUARY 17

Read Leviticus 8-10

I see some similarities in the Old and New Testament. God can handle false demonstrations, strange fire, and fake faith.

“Aaron’s sons Nadab and Abihu took their censers, put fire in them and added incense; and they offered unauthorized fire before the Lord, contrary to his command. So fire came out from the presence of the Lord and consumed them, and they died before the Lord. Moses then said to Aaron, “This is what the Lord spoke of when he said: “ ‘Among those who approach me I will be proved holy; in the sight of all the people I will be honored.’ ” Aaron remained silent.”
‭‭Leviticus‬ ‭10‬:‭1‬-‭3‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Something similar happens with Ananias and Sapphira in Acts 5:4-7
Did it not belong to you before it was sold? And after it was sold, was it not at your disposal? How could you conceive such a deed in your heart? You have not lied to men, but to God!” On hearing these words, Ananias fell down and died. And great fear came over all who heard what had happened. Then the young men stepped forward, wrapped up his body, and carried him out and buried him...

My thoughts are God is able to deal with strange fire, and will do so quite directly. Nothing is hidden that God will not disclose. (Luke 8:17) We would not have so much scandal in the church. If we all had a proper and healthy fear of God, meaning I understand God sees everything and every motive, and there is nothing in me that he does not see. So I’m real. If I need to repent I don’t act like I don’t and keep up appearances to save face.
The maker of heaven and earth is capable of protecting the holiness of HIS reputation .
The maker of heaven and earth, in the New Testament- the house of Jesus, maintains the principle that we should not lie to God, or pretend.
He is holy.

Deliberately lying to others is lying to God, and is hypocrisy. If we are not all in, we should not pretend to be all in.

God’s glory God’s way.
All I have belongs to God. It was mine, until I gave it to HIM. And once I’ve said it’s HIS, it’s completely HIS.
This is why it is wise to not, utter anything rash with our lips. Ecclesiastes 5:2-3
