Read Leviticus 1-4
So to be clean in the Old Testament there was considerable blood shed for forgiveness of sin! Yet it’s never enough.
Hebrews 9:22 states “without the shedding of blood there is no forgiveness”
Jesus came and fully met the requirements necessitated by God for our forgiveness, as the perfect Lamb. He is a superior high priest.
A priest forever, and it’s by his blood we are clean and forgiven.
Hebrews 7:11 If perfection could have been attained through the Levitical priesthood—and indeed the law given to the people established that priesthood—why was there still need for another priest to come, one in the order of Melchizedek, not in the order of Aaron?
PERFECT FOREVER
Hebrews 7:27b He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he offered himself.
28 For the law appoints as high priests men in all their weakness; but the oath, which came after the law, appointed the Son, who has been made perfect forever.
So this sounds like there’s nothing that you can do to diminish the perfection of what Jesus has offered you. Jesus is perfect. He’s enough to clean you up from any mess in any circumstance that you find yourself in.
Jesus is enough! His grace is sufficient!
Luke 22:20 Likewise He also took the cup after supper, saying,“This cup is the new covenant in My blood, which is shed for you.
The need cup is his blood, the needed blessing is this communion meal. 1 Cor. 10:16
