AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JANUARY 12

READ GENESIS 24-26

The moment you get done trusting God you have to do it again. It’s like making your bed everyday, or doing the dishes.

Abraham has been blessed in every way. Abraham knows it’s time for the transfer of God’s covenant to the next generation. Isaac will have to enter into his own relationship trusting God. And his trust starts after the death of his mother.

Genesis 24 is the longest chapter in the book. It is cinematic in detail.

Abraham passes the responsibility to his servant to find a wife for Isaac. The servant picks up the baton, and takes over the charge of finding her. The servant swears an oath, and sets out on camels. He is aware he will need the help of God in this task. He doesn’t pray for his own merit but rather on behalf of his master. ‘I will know that you have shown lovingkindness to my master.’ (Gen 24:14)

Before he even finishes his prayer God begins to unfold the glorious answer to his request. The servant took time to pray and it was a set up for God to act. What do you need to pray about today?

  1. “The moment you get done trusting God you have to do it again.” Isn’t that so true! I have this false believe that I will “arrive at full faith” some day. Like the disciples. I am praying, “Lord, increase my faith!”
