AWAKE BIBLE IN A YEAR JANUARY 2

“God, I invite you into this year and ask that you open my heart to Your Word. Help me to know you through it and let your Spirit of truth transform my life.”

READ John 1:1-3, Psalm 8, Psalm 104

Without him nothing was made that was made. (John 1:3) And in Psalm 104:28 we see God’s hand distributing even the food —when you give them… It’s all from HIM. God cares for you enough to give you daily bread and his wealth of care and provision is beyond our comprehension. He cares for all living things.

In complete agreement, the Father, the Son, and the Spirit provide.

Without Jesus, nothing was made. Take a quick inventory of the year you just went through and all the meals, you were able to eat, all the places of beauty you woke up to. You know that one camping trip, that outdid all the rest. The sunset that made you stop just to watch it’s glory. Give God credit with me for the care he has shown us.
Thank you Lord that we are doing life with you. You are life’s author. You are the unchanged perfect source for all life.

I enjoy the depth of the Psalm where it describes creation in such detail we see the character of God set with precision like a diamond among gemstones. The craftsmanship of God in our world can not be ignored. We tip our hats and bow our hearts to the only wise GOD and the foremost expert in the world’s formation. His touch on it all is astounding and FULL with rich evidence of harmony and balance in creation.

Father God, I pray when I see something beautiful or experience the awe of nature it will be a cue to my soul, to worship, and to praise you.
I’ll start with three meals a day each offering an opportunity to form a habit of thanks.

“All creatures look to you to give them their food at the proper time. When you give it to them, they gather it up; when you open your hand, they are satisfied with good things.”
‭‭Psalms‬ ‭104:27-28‬ ‭

“Lift up your eyes and look to the heavens: Who created all these? He who brings out the starry host one by one and calls forth each of them by name. Because of his great power and mighty strength, not one of them is missing.”
‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭40:26‬ ‭NIV‬‬

God’s genesis of the world involves the pre-incarnate Christ.

“The Son is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn over all creation. For in him all things were created: things in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or powers or rulers or authorities; all things have been created through him and for him. He is before all things, and in him all things hold together. And he is the head of the body, the church; he is the beginning and the firstborn from among the dead, so that in everything he might have the supremacy.”
‭‭Colossians‬ ‭1‬:‭15‬-‭18‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The names of God used are Elohim, and THE LORD GOD, (GEN 2:4 ) Yahweh Elohim

Closing prayer
God if all creatures look to you, so can I. You satisfy my hunger. Amen
