Strong part 1
After a week of travel I’ve hit a wall. Jet lag there you are. Yes, after the first week of anything new many hit a wall? EH? Am I the only one? One straight week of an exercise routine and I’m sore all over. The start up has excitement. The expending effort leaves you worn. For some frustration sets in when a new habit isn’t formed overnight or the strength we start off with fades. As we face another week I want to encourage you stay hungry. Especially stay hungry in your faith.
It has been written into our spiritual dna to hunger for the impossibilities around us to bow at the name of Jesus. Bill Johnson
“What do you mean, ‘If I can’?” Jesus asked. “Anything is possible if a person believes.” Mark 9:23
Pray like it’s possible. Stretch your current level of belief. The wall before you often reminds you of your limit. God’s power is perfected in weakness. God’s power is perfected when you are hitting the wall. Within our need and hunger He speaks. Last year I was in a storm of grief hungry to take care of my body. This was one area I could make gains in a season of loss. My goal had to be defined. I would enter in my calendar every form of exercise I committed in order to push myself out of the lull I had settled into. Do you have a desire for change? I would encourage you to do the same. This is the first in a 4 part online journal on what it is to be strong in faith.
“Physical training is good, but training for godliness is much better, promising benefits in this life and in the life to come.” 1 Timothy 4:8
Challenge yourself each day you pray to mark your calendar. Let’s make September and October a couple of months of gain. As with my exercise routine I didn’t guilt myself if it was a below average week. I would see where I came short and try again, resolved to improve and strengthen my physical fitness level and health. Currently after travel I so need a good work out.
Circumstances hit hard of recent? Through prayer turn the wall into a street of possibilities. Strengthen your resolve by setting your goals today. Anything is possible if a person believes. I believe we can change. I believe we can become stronger.
Acts 10:2 And he prayed regularly.
Father I know from the moment prayer left my mouth mercy covered us. Thank you for the blood of your Son’s body shed for my family, nation and life. I thank you for where I am weak in belief you are strong. I thank you for the transformative grace you offer to any and all who call out, seek you, and knock. Amen
