Go (Part 1)

The first launch of “gentile-focused missions” mentioned in the book of Acts is instrumental literally.  It comes from worship and fasting.  Men and women, prophets and teachers- together ministering to the Lord.  Read the story here Acts 13.

In Antioch worship led to missions. In our city we see the same.  Missions leader, Chad Youngquist spoke at our last City Wide Worship night- and his rally advocated the “go” in the gospel.  He charged the crowd of worshippers on May 2nd with one phrase that stands out, “We go where worship is not.” You and I are sent where the freedom to worship is not found.  Say with me, Spirit of Christ send us.  It may be a place where distraction and sorrow have stripped the people of their of worship.  It may be a place where simply no one has heard.  It may be a location where men and women have forgotten the true worship of God.  It may be a place where missionaries are working but they desperately need our support and encouragement.

Paul and Barnabus go, where Jesus Christ had not been.  For the early church this direction was not heard in a planning meeting or a strategy conference.  I am not opposed to those at all, however the Spirit most often speaks when Christ is exalted and man’s wisdom bows low.  Oh how we need you Lord.  The Spirit inhabits the exaltation of God- and the emerging church, she was all in.  Are we? When the Spirit gave indication of the will of God- yes, the work of God- men took action.  We can take heart from the courageous response of fasting and obedience.

Here’s our challenge today, find time to gather to worship and know that God has something to say, a team to build, and a mission to launch.  And if it includes you? Will you say yes, and go?

“Thus says the LORD, your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel, “I am the LORD your God, who teaches you to profit, Who leads you in the way you should go.” ‭‭Isaiah‬ ‭48‬:‭17‬

  1. Oh Charity this is so good…..let us take our eyes off of us, our minds off of what we know, empty our ears of the latest conclusions and seek God. On our knees, in our hearts, and in our lives. Lets step back and let Him lead. Oh Lord help us to hear Your voice. Help us to separated ourselves from this world long enough to see the direction you want us to take. Use us today, tomorrow and for the rest of our lives. Use us to show Your glory to those around us.
Thank you sister. I love you and I love your heart for Jesus.

  2. Chrity.
We must let go of all our intentions, goals, idea and let the power of Christ do what he wills in us.
Let your praises go to the heavenly places that he
desires. I long for that kind of worship!!
