Your Hour

And coming up at that very hour she began to give thanks to God and to speak of him to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem. (Luke 2:38 ESV)

To those who know me well, know I have an innate way of speaking about Him.  It’s in me.  Worship and prayer were the passion of Anna’s life.   Her hour had come as she encountered Christ. “This moment contains all moments” CS Lewis

Her mouth filled with thanks and a brilliant new understanding. Now was her hour to proclaim the Father’s son the redemption of fallen man.

Another woman found her hour had come…

Jesus said to her, “Woman, believe me, the hour is coming when neither on this mountain nor in Jerusalem will you worship the Father. But the hour is coming, and is now here, when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth, for the Father is seeking such people to worship him. (John 4:21, 23 ESV)

Jesus our Redeemer speaks of an hour.  What hour? When?  Now.  He boldly and bluntly declares to the woman the time is now when worshippers will worship the Father in spirit and truth.

Here it is in the Message version for your reflection.

“It’s who you are and the way you live that count before God. Your worship must engage your spirit in the pursuit of truth. That’s the kind of people the Father is out looking for: those who are simply and honestly themselves before him in their worship. God is sheer being itself—Spirit. Those who worship him must do it out of their very being, their spirits, their true selves, in adoration.” John 4:24

Brilliant,  first-rate, brill (informal), topping (British, slang), beaut (informal), barrie (Scottish, slang) Christ makes it simple, worship in spirit and truth.
You and I can bow our hearts and in awe worship the glory of redemption, now.  This is your hour let Jesus intersect your life and mine.

Stand at the crossroads and look;
ask for the ancient paths, ask where the good way is, and walk in it, and you will find rest for your souls.  Jer 6:16 NIV

Now at this very hour God looks among men and women to reveal his Fathering heart.  Sons and daughters dare you navigate this life with all it’s traps, snares, and challenges without Him?

Humanity recognizes the need for guides, rescuers, instructors, teachers, but have we recognized our need of the Father? Now is your hour to access the good way that leads to rest for the soul.

When my sons are navigating the mountain playground of snow and cold, they have their Father close to guide them on the slopes for their safety with love and a sincere interest in their enjoyment.  He knows what they need and provides for them.  When they are stuck in deep powder he patiently navigates through the snow and pulls them out of the deep drifts helping them return to the run.  He equips our sons with communication aids, whistles and phones so that should they get lost they can be found.

The connection is plain and clear.  Worship is your communication aid, to call out on the mountain terrain of life.  Your hour has come, worship out of your innate soul. Worship with the depth of who you are and see the form of your Father in all His saving power steady and trustworthy coming to redeem you.

Ps. 150: 2 Praise him for his acts of power; praise him for his surpassing greatness.
