Wonder like a Child

A generation is rising.  They are finding their way. Pursuits, interests, ideas, inventive ways of exploring our world all will emerge in them.  Investments worth our time.

John 1:9
The Life-Light was the real thing: Every person entering Life he brings into Light.

As they come into God’s house in the arms of our Good Creator, they come to the LIGHT of the world.  Light shines on them and their potential astounds and should amaze us.  They have a child filled wonder regardless of circumstance.
The passage goes on, He was in the world, the world was there through him, and yet the world didn’t even notice.  He came to his own people, but they didn’t want him.  But whoever did want him, who believed he was who he claimed and would do what he said, He made to be their true selves, their child-of-God selves.
Walk the halls of an elementary school, ideas, colors burst, thoughts spring into vivid art filled walls. Don’t tell them they can’t, because they simply believe they can.   Color it any way they want.  Write the future according to their biggest hopes and grandest inventions.  Life is large.  They shine! They sing, they dance, they run, they play, they live 100% of everyday.

Let me introduce you to the Volcano’s.  My daughter’s soccer team.  These girls play with all their heart.  They give me their best each and every week.  I am honored to coach them.  They don’t fuss at wearing a team uniform.  They are committed to practice.  On game day they jump in the game and play the position they are assigned and are learning how to think like a team.
They don’t doubt their value on the field.  They cheer each other’s strengths.  They encourage each other and listen for my directions.  They believe they are unstoppable!
WE could stand to live our lives in God’s house with this team’s heart.
Matthew 18:2 For an answer Jesus called over a child, whom he stood in the middle of the room,3 and said, “I’m telling you, once and for all, that unless you return to square one and start over like children, you’re not even going to get a look at the kingdom, let alone get in.4 Whoever becomes simple and elemental again, like this child, will rank high in God’s kingdom.5 What’s more, when you receive the childlike on my account, it’s the same as receiving me.
Let God remake your world by shedding His Light on your life.  Just believe Him, that He is who He says.  He will do what He has promised!

This last one sounds like a prayer:
Psalm 80:17 Then take the hand of your once-favorite child, the child you raised to adulthood.18 We will never turn our back on you; breathe life into our lungs so we can shout your name!
