PEACE LOVE JOY

Oh Happy Day!

Fun in the summer oh yeah get some, plan some then simply enjoy and rejoice.

1 Chronicles 16:30

God is serious business, take him seriously; he’s put the earth in place and it’s not moving. So let Heaven rejoice, let Earth be jubilant, and pass the word among the nations, “God reigns!” Let Ocean, all teeming with life, bellow, let Field and all its creatures shake the rafters; Then the trees in the forest will add their applause to all who are pleased and present before God ―he’s on his way to set things right!

I delight far more in what you tell me about living

than in gathering a pile of riches.

I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you,

I attentively watch how you’ve done it.

I relish everything you’ve told me of life,

I won’t forget a word of it. Psalm 119 (Message Version)

The two Greek words used — chairein and chaironton — are both forms of the same Greek word: chairo. It means ‘to rejoice, be glad, full of joy.’ This word is related to charis which means ‘grace.’ In its broader meaning it is a form of greeting, such as ‘be well’ or ‘thrive.’

Hebrew has several words for joy, each with different shades of meaning.

‘Simcha’ (ch is a soft gutteral, between h and the ch of ‘Bach’) means happiness in the most full sense.

‘Gila’ is a stronger sensation of joy but more transient and worldly (related to ‘gal’ = wave.)

‘rina’ is a joy related to singing and shouting.

‘ditza’ is joy related to dancing.

‘hanaah’ enjoyment (of something specific.)

Psalm 5:11-12 But you’ll welcome us with open arms

when we run for cover to you.

Let the party last all night!

Stand guard over our celebration.

You are famous, God, for welcoming God-seekers,

for decking us out in delight.

Jesus spoke of a joy that we all can count on- a joy that the Spirit brings. He spoke and promised it to the disciples when they were enduring a time of sorrow- they could expect a joy afterwards that would not could not (a bit of Dr. Suess) be taken from them.

In a time when many enduring so much loss, remember what Christ has given you and I- is not under threat!

John 16:22b …I will see you again and [then] your hearts will rejoice, and no one can take from you your joy (gladness, delight).

Rejoice- take delight, find sweet happiness today my heart is praying this for us today.

You can take joy in bringing delight to others. You can savor sweet friendships. Men can delight in the wife of their youth, grandparents can rejoice in babies born into this world. They are born with wonder, trust, and a complete pure beauty- joy is found in life! Life is indeed good. Get outside, paint, dance, cook, swim, laugh, pause before you eat and give thanks for the summer treats that abound. Wish I had a million suggestions of ways to inspire you to enjoy everyday life.

I just have a prayer- LORD let the fullness of the abundant life fill our days. You are our joy! Our great and lasting happiness comes from complete grace.

Lord I pray for the fruits of the Spirit to be on our summer table- love joy peace.

Galatians 5:22-23 (The Message)

22-23But what happens when we live God’s way? He brings gifts into our lives, much the same way that fruit appears in an orchard―things like affection for others, exuberance about life, serenity. We develop a willingness to stick with things, a sense of compassion in the heart, and a conviction that a basic holiness permeates things and people. We find ourselves involved in loyal commitments, not needing to force our way in life, able to marshal and direct our energies wisely.

MUCH LOVE AND JOY,

HEAPS OF HAPPINESS IN JESUS-Charity
